God blessed our humble ministry so much. We give all our thanks to God by sharing His wonderful works on our ministry during 2008 through this report. In the beginning of 2008, God gave us Matthew 6:33 as our annual key verse. God wanted us to seek Him first and serve Him first, not worrying too much about life¡¯s problems. As we keep that in mind and focus on God¡¯s work, God helped us and strengthened us in every way. For the first half of 2008, we studied the book of Acts. Apostle Paul¡¯s powerful spirit really encouraged us and empowered us to work harder for Jesus and have bigger vision. God worked on each of our hearts through His words. At that time, God gave us a direction to raise up Fred, our faithful Bible student, as a presider for SWS. Ever since he started attending our SWS in 2007, he never missed single SWS. He has been very faithful. He also finished entire Genesis Bible study with M. David this year. We thank God for his spiritual growth and pray that God may make him an ancestor of faith like Abraham. Throughout the year, God blessed M. Noah and M. David with chances to attend various staff conferences. M. David attended North America staff conference at Purdue in February. Thankfully, it was during his reading week. We thanked God for letting him attend the conference and giving him clear identity as a royal priesthood and a vision to grow as a leader for God¡¯s mission in North America. In April, M. Noah and M. David attended Canada directors meeting for the first time in Vancouver. It was a historical moment for Canadian ministry since it was the very first Canada directors meeting held in Western Canada. M. Noah was very busy with his work so initially he did not think he could go but based on Matthew 6:33, he obeyed and God renewed my vision and passion for Canada (especially Western Canada) through the directors meeting. Thank God. The most amazing work of God in our ministry this year is that God fulfilled our prayer topic to have 20 SWS attendees by 2008. It has been our prayer topic ever since we first started pioneering in 2005. In the beginning of 2008, having 20 people by the end of 2008 seemed impossible. Throughout the year, however, God sent us many Bible students, John, Sean, Junhee, Songkyu, Alexandra, Tom, Liu, Peter, Sooyeon and Mrs. Kang. In May, God even sent a new mission family to our ministry, M. Matthew and M. Best Sumibcay¡¯s family from England. They are wonderful coworkers and great servants of God and very fruitful (having 5 children). They have been a great source of encouragement and blessing in our ministry. We thank God for sending them to our humble ministry. We pray for their nursing board exam in February. They may pass the exam by God¡¯s grace so that they may be able to remain as permanent missionaries in Canada. In July, my family attended the Purdue International Summer Bible Conference by God¡¯s grace. Back when we were registering for the conference, M. Matthew¡¯s family was not here. We were worried that if my family were all gone to Purdue, where our Bible students would have SWS. God already had His plan for that. M. Matthew¡¯s family was here when we left for the conference so all our Bible students could still come and have SWS in our house church. Thank God for He surely has plans for everything. Purdue conference was great. Listening to heart moving messages, looking at all those young volunteers to be future missionaries, and Mother Barry¡¯s unceasing spiritual passion touched each of our hearts. We also thanked God that He let M. Deborah go to Chicago early and serve the conference preparation. One regret is that we could not bring any of our Bible students to the conference. We sincerely pray that God may continue to work on the hearts of our Bible students and help them accept Jesus¡¯ love and meet Jesus personally through 1:1 Bible studies so that they may be prepared to be future spiritual leaders. For the latter half of 2008, God inspired us to study John¡¯s Gospel. Our prayer was for our Bible students to meet Jesus who is the light, life and love through John¡¯s Gospel Bible study. God used M. Noah, M. Matthew and M. David as messengers. We continue to pray that God may bless the rest of our John¡¯s Gospel study in 2009 as well. Our Christmas worship service was a blast. It was a joyful celebration of Jesus, our Immanuel God¡¯s birth together. Total 21 people gathered together in this joyful occasion. We had Christmas play for the first time this year. M. Best wrote a script and directed a Christmas play and most of us participated in it. We thank God for granting us such wonderful Christmas worship service this year. After Christmas worship service, God gave us a new direction to divide up our members into different fellowships, since it was getting difficult for all the members to gather in one place and share the grace all at the same time. Now we have 4 fellowships, Vision, Vine & Branch, Faithful Warriors and Holy fellowships. We pray God may bless each fellowship to be fruitful in the new year 2009. Amen. For this new year 2009, God granted us Romans 1:17, ¡°For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ¡°The righteous will live by faith.¡± Based on that, our prayer topic is to establish 20 1:1 Bible Studies and 30 SWS attendees this year by faith. Also, by faith M. Matthew and M. Best may take the exam and pass and serve Canadian mission. Lastly, there will be a Canada directors meeting in May in Alberta. By faith, we may prepare for the second Canada directors meeting in Western Canada. God may bless Western Canadian mission and make Canada a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Amen! One Word: Seek God and serve God first by faith from first to last! |
