2016³â °³° Ư° (Pastor Ron Ward, Chicago UBF) ¡°YOUNG MAN, I SAY TO YOU, GET UP!¡± û³â¾Æ ÀϾ¶ó Luke 7:11-17 ¸»¾¸ / ´©°¡º¹À½ 7:11-17 Key Verse 7:14 ¡°Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!"¡± ¿äÀý / ´©°¡º¹À½ 7:14 ¡°°¡±îÀÌ °¡¼ ±× °ü¿¡ ¼ÕÀ» ´ë½Ã´Ï ¸à ÀÚµéÀÌ ¼´ÂÁö¶ó ¿¹¼ö²²¼ À̸£½ÃµÇ û³â¾Æ ³»°¡ ³×°Ô ¸»Çϳë´Ï ÀϾ¶ó ÇϽøÅ.¡± The gospels tell of three specific accounts of Jesus raising people from the dead: º¹À½¼¿¡´Â ¿¹¼ö´Ô²²¼ Á×Àº ÀÚ¸¦ »ì¸®½Å ¼¼ °¡Áö »ç°ÇÀÌ ³ª¿É´Ï´Ù. Jairus¡¯ daughter, Lazarus, and the young man in this story. ¾ßÀÌ·ÎÀÇ µþ, ³ª»ç·Î, ±×¸®°í ¿À´Ã º»¹®ÀÇ Ã»³âÀÔ´Ï´Ù. This event especially reveals that Jesus is the source of comfort and the life-giver. ƯÈ÷ ¿À´Ã ¸»¾¸Àº ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ À§·ÎÀÇ ±Ù¿øÀÌ¿ä »ý¸íÀÇ ¼ö¿©ÀÚÀ̽ÉÀ» µå·¯³»°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. From day to day we live in this world, experiencing many things. ¿ì¸®´Â ¸¹Àº ÀÏÀ» °æÇèÇϸç ÀÌ ¼¼»ó¿¡¼ ÇÏ·çÇÏ·ç »ì¾Æ°¡°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. Sometimes we can rejoice and smile. ¾î¶² ¶§´Â ±â»µÇϱ⵵ ÇÏ°í ¿ô±âµµ ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. But often we are sorrowful, discouraged, fearful, despairing, and anxious. ±×·¯³ª ÀÚÁÖ ¿ì¸®´Â ½½ÆÛÇÏ°í ³«½ÉÇÏ°í µÎ·Á¿öÇÏ°í Àý¸ÁÇÏ°í ºÒ¾ÈÇØÇÕ´Ï´Ù. We try to be positive, but in the corners of our hearts there are shadows. ¿ì¸®´Â ±àÁ¤ÀûÀÌ µÇ°íÀÚ ¾Ö¾²Áö¸¸, ¿ì¸® ¸¶À½ ÇÑ ±¸¼®¿¡´Â ¾îµÒÀÇ ±×¸²ÀÚ°¡ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. When we carefully consider what bothers us, the root cause is the power of death. ¿ì¸®¸¦ ±«·ÓÈ÷´Â °ÍÀ» °õ°õÀÌ »ý°¢ÇØ º¸¸é, ±× ±Ùº» ¿øÀÎÀº Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ÀÓÀ» ¾Ë°Ô µË´Ï´Ù. Not only is our destiny to die, but while living in this world we suffer under the power of death. ¿ì¸®´Â Á×À» ¿î¸í¿¡ óÇØ ÀÖÀ» »Ó ¾Æ´Ï¶ó, ÀÌ ¼¼»óÀ» »ì¾Æ°¥ ¶§µµ Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ ¾Æ·¡¼ °íÅëÇÏ¸ç »ì¾Æ°©´Ï´Ù. In today¡¯s passage we see a widow suffering under the power of death. ¿À´Ã º»¹®¿¡¼ ¿ì¸®´Â Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ ¾Æ·¡¼ °íÅëÇÏ´Â ÇÑ °úºÎ¸¦ º¸°Ô µË´Ï´Ù. This is not just her problem; it is the problem of all people, then and now. ÀÌ´Â ´ÜÁö ±×³à¸¸ÀÇ ¹®Á¦°¡ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ±×¶§³ª Áö±ÝÀ̳ª ¸ðµç »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¹®Á¦ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. Death is so powerful that it rules people¡¯s minds and hearts. Á×À½Àº ³Ê¹«³ª °·ÂÇÏ¿© »ç¶÷µéÀÇ ¸¶À½°ú ½ÉÁ¤À» Áö¹èÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Many people whose bodies are alive are dead inside. ¸¹Àº »ç¶÷µéÀÌ ¸öÀº »ì¾ÒÀ¸³ª ³»¸éÀº Á×¾î ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. They live without meaning or hope or vision; just existing day to day—more like an automaton than a human being. ±×µéÀº »îÀÇ Àǹ̵µ Èñ¸Áµµ ºñÀüµµ ¾øÀÌ »ì¾Æ°©´Ï´Ù. ´ÜÁö ¸ÅÀÏ ¸ÅÀÏÀ» ±×³É Á¸ÀçÇÏ´Â °Í°ú °°Àº »î, Àΰ£À̶ó±âº¸´Ù´Â ÀÚµ¿ÈµÈ ±â°è¿Í °°Àº »îÀ» »ì¾Æ°©´Ï´Ù. Even Christians groan under the power of death and cry inwardly. ½ÉÁö¾î ±×¸®½ºµµÀÎÁ¶Â÷µµ Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ ¾Æ·¡¼ ½ÅÀ½Çϸç, ¼ÓÀ¸·Î´Â ¿ï°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. It seems that people are swimming in a sea of death. »ç¶÷µéÀº ¸¶Ä¡ Á×À½ÀÇ ¹Ù´Ù¿¡¼ Çã¿ìÀû°Å¸®´Â °Í °°½À´Ï´Ù. How can we get out of it and live a vibrant and fruitful life? ¾î¶»°Ô ¿ì¸®°¡ ¿©±â¼ ¹þ¾î³ª È°±âÂ÷°í ¿¸Å ¸Î´Â »îÀ» »ì ¼ö ÀÖÀ»±î¿ä? How? ¾î¶»°Ô ±×·¸°Ô µÉ ¼ö ÀÖÀ»±î¿ä? Jesus said to the widow: ¡°Don¡¯t cry.¡± ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº °úºÎ¿¡°Ô ¸»¾¸ÇϽʴϴÙ. ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó.¡± Jesus said to a dead man lying in a coffin: ¡°Young man, Get up!¡± ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº °ü¿¡ ´©¿öÀÖ´Â Á×Àº ÀÚ¿¡°Ô ¸»¾¸ÇϽʴϴÙ. ¡°Ã»³â¾Æ ÀϾ¶ó!¡± Let¡¯s listen to Jesus¡¯ words. ¿ì¸®µµ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡ ±Í ±â¿ïÀԽôÙ. First, ¡°Don¡¯t cry¡± (11-13). ù°, ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó¡± (11-13) In this event, we can find two different processions. ÀÌ »ç°Ç¿¡¼ ¿ì¸®´Â µÎ °¡Áö ´Ù¸¥ Çà·ÄÀ» º¾´Ï´Ù. One is a procession of death and the other is a procession of life. Çϳª´Â Á×À½ÀÇ Çà·ÄÀÌ¿ä ´Ù¸¥ Çϳª´Â »ý¸íÀÇ Çà·ÄÀÔ´Ï´Ù. Through these we see the deep meaning of the gospel. À̸¦ ÅëÇØ ¿ì¸®´Â º¹À½ÀÇ ±íÀº Àǹ̸¦ ¹ß°ßÇÏ°Ô µË´Ï´Ù. The gospel is the good news. º¹À½Àº ±â»Û ¼Ò½ÄÀÔ´Ï´Ù. But in order to understand the good news, we must first accept the bad news. ÇÏÁö¸¸ ÀÌ ±â»Û ¼Ò½ÄÀ» ÀÌÇØÇϱâ À§Çؼ ¿ì¸®´Â ¸ÕÀú ³ª»Û ¼Ò½ÄÀ» ¹Þ¾Æµé¿©¾ß¸¸ ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. We find bad news in this story of a sorrowful widow who lost her only son. ¿ì¸®´Â ÀÌ ³ª»Û ¼Ò½ÄÀ» ¿Ü¾ÆµéÀ» ÀÒÀº ½½Ç °úºÎÀÇ À̾߱⿡¼ ¹ß°ßÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Soon after healing a dying servant, Jesus left Capernaum and went to a town called Nain, about 25 miles to the southwest (11). ¿¹¼ö´Ô²²¼ º´µé¾î Á׾´ø ¹éºÎÀåÀÇ Á¾À» »ì·ÁÁֽŠÈÄ, °¡¹ö³ª¿òÀ» ¶°³ª ³²¼ÂÊÀ¸·Î 40km ¶³¾îÁø ³ªÀÎÀ̶ó´Â ¼ºÀ¸·Î °¡¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù(11). As Jesus approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. ¿¹¼ö´Ô²²¼ ¼º¹®¿¡ °¡±îÀÌ À̸£½Ç ¶§¿¡ »ç¶÷µéÀÌ ÇÑ Á×Àº ÀÚ¸¦ ¸Þ°í ³ª¿Ô´Âµ¥, ÀÌ´Â ¾î¶² ¾î¸Ó´ÏÀÇ µ¶ÀÚ¿ä ±×³à´Â °úºÎ¿´½À´Ï´Ù. And a large crowd from the town was with her (12). ±× ¼ºÀÇ ¸¹Àº »ç¶÷µéÀÌ ±×³à¿Í ÇÔ²² ³ª¿À°í ÀÖ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. This woman¡¯s life seems most tragic—a symphony of sorrows, movement by movement. ÀÌ ¿©ÀÎÀÇ »îÀº ¸Å¿ì ºñ±ØÀûÀÌ¾î¼ ¸Å ¾ÇÀåÀÌ ½½ÇÄÀ¸·Î ±¸¼ºµÈ ±³Çâ°î°ú °°½À´Ï´Ù. The first movement was the death of her husband. ù ¹ø° ¾ÇÀåÀº ±×³àÀÇ ³²ÆíÀÇ Á×À½¿¡ ´ëÇÑ °ÍÀ̾ú½À´Ï´Ù. She became a widow. ±×³à´Â °úºÎ°¡ µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Widows are generally lonely, helpless, vulnerable and sorrowful. °úºÎ´Â ÀϹÝÀûÀ¸·Î ¿Ü·Ó°í ¹«·ÂÇϸç, »óó¹Þ±â ½±°í ½½ÇÅ´Ï´Ù. There is a saying that no one knows a widow¡¯s sorrow, except another widow. °úºÎÀÇ ½½ÇÄÀº °úºÎ°¡ ¾Æ´Ï°í¼´Â ÀÌÇØÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø´Ù´Â ¸»ÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. Fortunately, for this woman, she had an only son. ´ÙÇàÈ÷µµ ÀÌ ¿©Àο¡°Ô´Â ¿Ü¾ÆµéÀÌ ÀÖ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. He must have become her source of hope, joy, and meaning of life. ÀÌ ¾ÆµéÀº ±×³à¿¡°Ô Èñ¸Á°ú ±â»ÝÀÇ ±Ù¿øÀÌ¿ä »îÀÇ Àǹ̿´À½¿¡ Ʋ¸²¾ø½À´Ï´Ù. He grew and became a young man. ÀÌ ¾ÆµéÀº Àڶ󳪼 ¾î¿³ÇÑ Ã»³âÀÌ µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. As he grew, her heart was restored more and more. ¾ÆµéÀÌ Ä¿°¥¼ö·Ï ¾î¸Ó´ÏÀÇ ¸¶À½Àº Á¡Â÷ ȸº¹ÀÌ µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. She might have searched for the best marriage candidate and envisioned the arrival of cute grandchildren. ¾î¸Ó´Ï´Â ¾ÆµéÀ» À§ÇØ ÃÖ°íÀÇ ½Åº×°¨À» ã¾Æº¸¾ÒÀ» °ÍÀÌ°í, ±Í¿©¿î ¼ÕÁÖµéÀÌ Å¾ ÀÏÀ» ¸¶À½¿¡ ±×·Áº¸¾ÒÀ» °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. But one day, this young man died. ±×·±µ¥ ¾î´À ³¯, ÀÌ Ã»³âÀÌ ±×¸¸ Á×°í ¸»¾Ò½À´Ï´Ù. We don¡¯t know how. ¿ì¸®´Â ±×°¡ ¾î¶»°Ô Á×°Ô µÇ¾ú´ÂÁö ¾ËÁö ¸øÇÕ´Ï´Ù. These days in the USA, the leading causes of death among young men are traffic accidents (including from drunk driving), suicide, poisoning and homicide. ¿äÁò ¹Ì±¹¿¡¼ û³â»ç¸ÁÀÇ ¿øÀÎÀº ±³Åë»ç°í(À½ÁÖ¿îÀüÀ» Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ¿©), ÀÚ»ì, ¾à¹°Áßµ¶°ú »ìÀÎ ¼ø¼ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. This young man¡¯s death must have devastated his widowed mother. ÀÌ Ã»³âÀÇ Á×À½Àº °úºÎ ¾î¸Ó´ÏÀÇ »îÀ» ¿ÏÀüÈ÷ ȲÆóÇÏ°Ô ¸¸µé¾úÀ½¿¡ Ʋ¸²¾ø½À´Ï´Ù. She felt that she lost everything, including her reason to live. ±×³à´Â »îÀÇ ÀÌÀ¯¸¦ Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ¿© ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ ¸ðµç °ÍÀ» ÀÒ¾î¹ö·È´Ù°í ´À²¼À» °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. In her deep grief, she wailed endlessly, and for all who heard her, it was gut-wrenching. ±íÀº ½½ÇÄ °¡¿îµ¥ ±×³à´Â ²÷ÀÓ¾øÀÌ Åë°îÇß°í, ÀÌ ¼Ò½ÄÀ» µéÀº ¸ðµç »ç¶÷µéÀº ¾Ö°£ÀåÀÌ ²÷¾îÁö´Â °Í °°¾Ò½À´Ï´Ù. No one could say anything to her. »ç¶÷µéÀº ±×³à¿¡°Ô ¾Æ¹« ¸»µµ ÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. All they could do was stand beside her and cry together. ±×µéÀÌ ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â ÀÏÀ̶ó°í´Â ±×³à ¿·¿¡ ¼¼ ÇÔ²² ¿ï¾îÁÖ´Â °Í»ÓÀ̾ú½À´Ï´Ù. At first, they cried that the young man had died. óÀ½¿¡ ±×µéÀº ±× û³âÀÌ Á×¾ú´Ù´Â °ÍÀ¸·Î ÀÎÇØ ¿ï¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Then they began to cry for the mother, and then for themselves, thinking of their own sorrow, and common destiny. ±× ÈÄ¿¡´Â ±× û³âÀÇ ¾î¸Ó´Ï¸¦ À§ÇØ ¿ï´Ù°¡, ÀÌÀ¹°í ÀڽŵéÀÌ ´çÇÑ ½½Ç ÀÏ°ú, Àڽŵ鵵 Á×À» ¿î¸í¿¡ óÇØ ÀÖ´Ù´Â »ç½Ç·Î ÀÎÇØ ¿ï¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. In this way a dark power ruled over the whole town, and its cause was death. ÀÌ·± ½ÄÀ¸·Î ¾îµÒÀÇ ¼¼·ÂÀº ±× ¿Â ¼ºÀ¾À» µÚµ¤¾úÀ¸¸ç, ±× ¿øÀÎÀº Á×À½À̾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Death is like a cruel tyrant, ruthlessly oppressing mankind. Á×À½Àº Àηù¸¦ ¹«ÀÚºñÇÏ°Ô ¾ÐÁ¦ÇÏ´Â ÀÜÀÎÇÑ Æø±º°ú °°½À´Ï´Ù. It has been characterized by the Grim Reaper, a skeletal figure clothed in black who takes people away without delay or mercy. Á×À½Àº ÇØ°ñ ¸ð½À¿¡ °ËÀº ¸ÁÅ並 °ÉÄ¡°í¼ ÁöüÇÔÀ̳ª ÀÚºñµµ ¾øÀÌ »ç¶÷µéÀ» µ¥·Á°¡´Â Á×À½ÀÇ »ç½ÅÀ¸·Î ¹¦»çµË´Ï´Ù. It does not matter whether they are rich or poor, wise or foolish, famous or unknown. Á×À½Àº ºÎÀÚµç °¡³ÇÑ ÀÚµç, ÁöÇý·Î¿î ÀÚµç ¾î¸®¼®Àº ÀÚµç, À¯¸íÇÑ ÀÚµç ¹«¸íÀÇ »ç¶÷ÀÌµç ±¸º°ÇÏÁö ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù. No one can resist it, or cheat death. ¾î´À ´©±¸µµ Á×À½¿¡ ÀúÇ×ÇÒ ¼ö ¾øÀ¸¸ç, ¼ÓÀÏ ¼öµµ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù. Ecclesiastes 8:8 says, ¡°As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death.¡± Àüµµ¼ 8:8ÀýÀº ¸»ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ¡°¹Ù¶÷À» ´Ù½º·Á ±×Ä¡°Ô ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¾øµíÀÌ, ÀڱⰡ Á×À» ³¯À» ÇÇÇϰųª ¿¬±â½Ãų ¼ö ÀÖ´Â »ç¶÷µµ ¾ø´Ù.¡±(Ç¥ÁØ»õ¹ø¿ª) Where did the power of death come from? Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼´Â ¾îµð¼ ¿Â °ÍÀԴϱî? It was not God¡¯s intention for man to die. »ç¶÷ÀÌ Á×´Â °ÍÀº Çϳª´Ô²²¼ ÀǵµÇϽŠ°ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù. It was the consequence of man¡¯s disobedience to God¡¯s word (Ro 5:12). ±×°ÍÀº Àΰ£ÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡ ºÒ¼øÁ¾ÇÑ °á°ú¿´½À´Ï´Ù(·Ò 5:12). Romans 6:23a says, ¡°The wages of sin is death.¡± ·Î¸¶¼ 6:23aÀýÀº ¸»ÇÕ´Ï´Ù, ¡°ÁËÀÇ »éÀº »ç¸ÁÀÌ¿ä.¡± People think that death is the end of everything. »ç¶÷µéÀº Á×À¸¸é ±×°ÍÀ¸·Î ³¡À̶ó »ý°¢ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. But that is not true. ±×·¯³ª ÀÌ´Â »ç½ÇÀÌ ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù. Hebrews 9:27 says, ¡°Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment¡¦.¡± È÷ºê¸®¼ 9:27ÀýÀº ¸»ÇÕ´Ï´Ù, ¡°Çѹø Á×´Â °ÍÀº »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô Á¤ÇϽŠÀÏÀÌ¿ä, ±× ÈÄ¿¡´Â ½ÉÆÇÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸¸®´Ï.¡± God¡¯s judgment is as certain as death, and more serious than we imagine. Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ½ÉÆÇÀº Á×À½Ã³·³ È®½ÇÇÑ ÀÏÀ̸ç, ¿ì¸®°¡ »ó»óÇÏ´Â °Íº¸´Ù ´õ ½É°¢ÇÑ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. Even to be in an American jail is unbearable. ¹Ì±¹¿¡¼Á¶Â÷ °¨¿Á¿¡ °¤Èù´Ù´Â °ÍÀº °ßµô ¼ö ¾øÀÌ Èûµç ÀÏÀÔ´Ï´Ù. Yet an American prison is like a luxury hotel compared to a sinner¡¯s punishment after God¡¯s judgment. ±×·¯³ª ¹Ì±¹ÀÇ °¨¿ÁÀº Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ½ÉÆÇÀ¸·Î ÁËÀεéÀÌ ¹ÞÀ» Çü¹ú¿¡ ºñÇϸé Â÷¶ó¸® ȣȽº·¯¿î È£ÅÚ°ú °°½À´Ï´Ù. But this is not the end of the story. ±×·¯³ª ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ À̾߱âÀÇ ³¡ÀÌ ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù. God had mercy on mankind, and promised to send a Savior. Çϳª´ÔÀº Àηù¸¦ ±àÈáÈ÷ ¿©±â½Ã°í´Â ±¸¼¼ÁÖ¸¦ º¸³»ÁÖ°Ú´Ù ¾à¼ÓÇϼ̽À´Ï´Ù. God prepared for a long time, and finally sent his one and only Son Jesus to save us from this awful destiny. Çϳª´ÔÀº ¿À·£ Áغñ ³¡¿¡ ¿ì¸®¸¦ ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ ¹«¼¿î ¿î¸í¿¡¼ ±¸¿øÇϽðíÀÚ ¸¶Ä§³» ´ç½ÅÀÇ µ¶»ýÀÚ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀ» º¸³»¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù. Though Jesus is in very nature God, he came into this world as a human being and humbly served all kinds of people out of his great compassion. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ±Ùº» Çϳª´ÔÀÇ º»Ã¼½Ã³ª »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¸ð¾çÀ¸·Î ÀÌ ¶¥¿¡ ¿À½Ã°í, ´ç½ÅÀÇ Å©½Å ±àÈá·Î½á ¿Â°® Á¾·ùÀÇ »ç¶÷µéÀ» °â¼ÕÈ÷ ¼¶±â¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù. Here, Jesus served a widow whose only son had died. ¿À´Ã º»¹®¿¡¼ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¿Ü¾ÆµéÀ» ÀÒÀº °úºÎ¸¦ ¼¶±â¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù. When he saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, ¡°Don¡¯t cry¡± (13). ÁÖ´Ô²²¼´Â °úºÎ¸¦ º¸½Ã°í ºÒ½ÖÈ÷ ¿©±â¸ç ¸»¾¸Çϼ̽À´Ï´Ù, ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó¡±(13). The Greek word for ¡°heart went out¡± means to have great compassion that comes from one¡¯s deepest heart. ¡°ºÒ½ÖÈ÷ ¿©±â»ç¡±¿¡ ÇØ´çµÇ´Â Çï¶ó¾î´Â ¸¶À½ ±íÀº °÷¿¡¼ ¿ì·¯³ª¿À´Â Å« ±àÈáÀ» ÀǹÌÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Jesus felt her anguish, sorrow and pain as his own, and wanted to comfort her by any means. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ±×³àÀÇ ºñÅëÇÔ°ú ½½ÇÄ°ú °íÅëÀ» ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ °Íó·³ ´À³¢½Ã¸ç ¾îÂîµçÁö ±×³à¸¦ À§·ÎÇÏ°íÀÚ Çϼ̽À´Ï´Ù. Jesus was not responding to a specific request; it was totally his initiative to reach out and help this woman. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº Ưº°ÇÑ ¿äû¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿© ÀÀÇϽŠ°ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. ÀÌ ¿©Àο¡°Ô ´Ù°¡°¡ µ½°íÀÚ ÇÑ °ÍÀº ÀüÀûÀ¸·Î ÁÖ´Ô²²¼ ¸ÕÀú ÇϽŠÀÏÀ̾ú½À´Ï´Ù. This is God¡¯s heart for human beings who are suffering under the power of death. ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ ¾Æ·¡¼ ½ÅÀ½ÇÏ´Â Àΰ£À» ÇâÇÑ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¸¶À½ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. With this heart, Jesus said, ¡°Don¡¯t cry.¡± ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ ¸¶À½À¸·Î ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¸»¾¸ÇϽʴϴÙ, ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó.¡± His words were more than emotional sympathy. ÀÌ ¸»¾¸Àº °¨Á¤¿¡ È£¼ÒÇÏ´Â µ¿Á¤½É ÀÌ»óÀÔ´Ï´Ù. He was able to solve the problem that tormented her soul. ÁÖ´ÔÀº ±×³àÀÇ ¿µÈ¥¿¡ Å« °íÅëÀ» ÁÖ´Â ¹®Á¦¸¦ ÇØ°áÇØ ÁÖ½Ç ¼ö ÀÖ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. So his words inspired faith and hope in her. ±×·¡¼ ÁÖ´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸Àº ±×³à¿¡°Ô ¹ÏÀ½°ú ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» ºÒ·¯ ÀÏÀ¸Ä×½À´Ï´Ù. Jesus¡¯ words ¡°Don¡¯t cry¡± brought real comfort. ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó¡±´Â ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸Àº ÁøÁ¤ÇÑ À§·Î¸¦ ÁÝ´Ï´Ù. Who can say, ¡°Don¡¯t cry¡±? ´©°¡ ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó¡±°í ¸»ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ°Ú½À´Ï±î? Who can fully understand our sorrows? ´©°¡ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ½½ÇÄÀ» ¿ÂÀüÈ÷ ÀÌÇØÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ°Ú½À´Ï±î? Who can fully share our pain and agony? ´©°¡ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ °í³ú¿Í °íÅëÀ» ¿ÂÀüÈ÷ ³ª´ ¼ö ÀÖ°Ú½À´Ï±î? Who can really wipe away our tears that come from unbearable suffering and loneliness? ´©°¡ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ¿Ü·Î¿ò°ú ÂüÀ» ¼ö ¾ø´Â °íÅë¿¡¼ ¿À´Â ´«¹°À» ¸»²ûÈ÷ ¾Ä¾îÁÙ ¼ö ÀÖ°Ú½À´Ï±î? Is not Jesus the only one? ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ÀÌ·¸°Ô ÇÏ½Ç À¯ÀÏÇÑ ºÐÀÌ ¾Æ´Õ´Ï±î? Yes, only Jesus can do this. ±×·¸½À´Ï´Ù. ¿ÀÁ÷ ¿¹¼ö´Ô¸¸ÀÌ ±×·¸°Ô ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. That¡¯s why we need Jesus. ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ÇÊ¿äÇÑ ÀÌÀ¯ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. In order to do this for us, what did Jesus do? ¿ì¸®¸¦ À§ÇØ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¹«¾ùÀ» Çϼ̽À´Ï±î? Jesus had to be made like us, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a faithful and merciful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people (Heb 2:17). ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ÀÏ¿¡ ÀÚºñÇÏ°í ½Å½ÇÇÑ ´ëÁ¦»çÀåÀÌ µÇ¾î, ¹é¼ºÀÇ Á˸¦ ¼Ó·®Çϱâ À§Çؼ ¸ðµç ¸é¿¡¼ ¿ÏÀüÈ÷ ¿ì¸®¿Í °°Àº Àΰ£ÀÌ µÇ¼Å¾ß¸¸ Çß½À´Ï´Ù(È÷ 2:17). Isaiah depicts Jesus as the one who suffered for us, saying, ¡°He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain¡¦ ÀÌ»ç¾ß´Â ¿ì¸®¸¦ À§ÇØ °í³ ¹ÞÀ¸½Å ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀ» ÀÌ·¸°Ô ¹¦»çÇß½À´Ï´Ù. ¡°±×´Â ¸ê½Ã¸¦ ¹Þ¾Æ »ç¶÷µé¿¡°Ô ¹ö¸² ¹Þ¾ÒÀ¸¸ç °£°í¸¦ ¸¹ÀÌ °Þ¾úÀ¸¸ç Áú°í¸¦ ¾Æ´Â ÀÚ¶ó¡¦ Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering¡¦ ±×´Â ½Ç·Î ¿ì¸®ÀÇ Áú°í¸¦ Áö°í ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ½½ÇÄÀ» ´çÇÏ¿´°Å´Ã¡¦ he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; ±×°¡ Âñ¸²Àº ¿ì¸®ÀÇ Çã¹° ¶§¹®ÀÌ¿ä ±×°¡ »óÇÔÀº ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ÁË¾Ç ¶§¹®À̶ó. the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed¡± (Isa 53:3-5). ±×°¡ ¡°è¸¦ ¹ÞÀ½À¸·Î ¿ì¸®´Â Æòȸ¦ ´©¸®°í, ±×°¡ äÂï¿¡ ¸ÂÀ½À¸·Î ¿ì¸®´Â ³ªÀ½À» ¹Þ¾Òµµ´Ù¡±(»ç 53:3-5). Jesus says to each of us, ¡°Don¡¯t cry.¡± ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¿ì¸® °¢ »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô ¸»¾¸ÇϽʴϴÙ, ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó.¡± Jesus is the source of true comfort who wipes our tears away and stops our inner cry. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ´«¹°À» ´ÛÀ¸½Ã°í ¿ì¸® ³»¸éÀÇ ¿ïºÎ¢À½À» ±×Ä¡°Ô ÇϽô ÂüµÈ À§·ÎÀÇ ±Ù¿øÀ̽ʴϴÙ. When we receive the comfort Jesus gives, we can also comfort others who are suffering under the power of death. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ Áֽô ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ À§·Î¸¦ ¹ÞÀ» ¶§ ¿ì¸®µµ Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ ¾Æ·¡ ½ÅÀ½ÇÏ´Â ´Ù¸¥ »ç¶÷µéÀ» À§·ÎÇÒ ¼ö°¡ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. When we have sorrow and pain in our hearts, let¡¯s listen to Jesus¡¯ words, ¡°Don¡¯t cry.¡± ¿ì¸® ¸¶À½¿¡ ½½ÇÄ°ú °íÅëÀÌ ÀÖÀ» ¶§ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ À½¼º¿¡ ±Í ±â¿ïÀԽôÙ, ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó.¡± Second, ¡°Young man, ¡¦ Get up!¡± (14-17). µÑ°, ¡°Ã»³â¾Æ ÀϾ¶ó¡±(14-17) There is a saying, ¡°It is easier said than done.¡± ¡°¸»Çϱâ´Â ½±Áö¸¸ ÇàÇϱâ´Â ¾î·Æ´Ù¡±´Â ¸»ÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. If Jesus had stopped after saying, ¡°Don¡¯t cry,¡± his words would not have brought true comfort. ¸¸¾à ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ¡°¿ïÁö ¸»¶ó¡±´Â ¸»¾¸¸¸ ÇÏ°í ³¡³µ´õ¶ó¸é, ÁÖ´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸Àº ÁøÁ¤ÇÑ À§·Î¸¦ ÁÖÁö ¸øÇßÀ»Áö ¸ð¸¨´Ï´Ù. Jesus backed his words with action. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ´ç½ÅÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» ÇൿÀ¸·Î º¸¿©Áּ̽À´Ï´Ù. Jesus went up and touched the bier they were carrying the young man on (14a). ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº °¡±îÀÌ °¡¼ û³âÀÌ ´©¿ö ÀÖ´Â ±× °ü¿¡ ¼ÕÀ» ´ë¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù(14a). According to funeral protocol, no one should interfere with a burial procession. Àå·Ê ÀÇ·Ê¿¡ ÀÇÇÏ¸é ¾î´À ´©±¸µµ Àå·Ê Çà·ÄÀ» ¹æÇØÇؼ´Â ¾È µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. And according to the law of Moses, touching the bier like this would make a person unclean (Nu 19:16). ¶ÇÇÑ ¸ð¼¼ÀÇ ¹ý¿¡ ÀÇÇÏ¸é °üÀ» ¸¸Áö´Â °ÍÀº ±× »ç¶÷À» ºÎÁ¤ÇÏ°Ô ¸¸µå´Â ÀÏÀ̾ú½À´Ï´Ù(¹Î 19:16). This is true of ordinary people. ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ °ÍÀº ÀϹÝÀε鿡°Ô´Â ¸Â½À´Ï´Ù. But Jesus is different. ÇÏÁö¸¸ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ´Ù¸¨´Ï´Ù. It is impossible for Jesus to become unclean; ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ºÎÁ¤ÇÏ°Ô µÈ´Ù´Â °ÍÀº ºÒ°¡´ÉÇÑ ÀÏÀÔ´Ï´Ù. instead, whatever he touches becomes clean. ¿ÀÈ÷·Á ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ¸¸Áö´Â °ÍÀº ¹«¾ùÀ̵çÁö ±ú²ýÇÏ°Ô µË´Ï´Ù. Jesus is the holy God who makes people holy (Lev 21:8b; Heb 2:11). ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº »ç¶÷À» °Å·èÇÏ°Ô ÇϽô °Å·èÇÑ Çϳª´ÔÀÔ´Ï´Ù(·¹ 21:8b; È÷ 2:11). Jesus is the Creator God who gives life (Jn 1:3-4). ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº »ý¸íÀ» Áֽô âÁ¶ÁÖ Çϳª´ÔÀÔ´Ï´Ù(¿ä 1:3-4). So he can stop the procession of death. ±×·¡¼ ÁÖ´ÔÀº Á×À½ÀÇ Çà·ÄÀ» ¸ØÃâ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. At Jesus¡¯ action, the bearers stood still. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀ¸·Î ÀÎÇØ ¸à ÀÚµéÀÌ ¸ØÃß¾î ¼°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Everything stopped; even the Grim Reaper halted. ¸ðµç °ÍÀÌ ¸ØÃß¾î ¼¹½À´Ï´Ù. Á×À½ÀÇ ½Å Grim Reaper±îÁöµµ ¸ØÃß¾î ¼¹½À´Ï´Ù. Then Jesus said, ¡°Young man, I say to you, Get up!¡± (14b) À̶§ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ¸»¾¸Çϼ̽À´Ï´Ù, ¡°Ã»³â¾Æ ³»°¡ ³×°Ô ¸»Çϳë´Ï ÀϾ¶ó¡±(14b). An amazing thing happened. ±×·¯ÀÚ ³î¶ó¿î ÀÏÀÌ ÀϾ½À´Ï´Ù. The dead man sat up and began to talk: Á×¾ú´ø ÀÚ°¡ ÀϾ ¾É°í ¸»µµ Çϱ⠽ÃÀÛÇß½À´Ï´Ù. ¡°Good morning everybody! Wow, I feel so refreshed. ¡°¿©·¯ºÐ ¾È³çÇϼ¼¿ä! ¿Í, Á¤¸» »óÄèÇÑ ¾ÆħÀ̱º¿ä. Thank you, Jesus! Thank you, Mom, and thanks everybody for coming.¡± ¿¹¼ö´Ô °¨»çÇÕ´Ï´Ù! ¾î¸Ó´Ï °¨»çÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ¿Í ÁֽŠ¸ðµç ºÐµé °¨»çÇÕ´Ï´Ù.¡± Then Jesus gave him back to his mother. À̶§ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ±×¸¦ ¾î¸Ó´Ï¿¡°Ô °Ç³×Áּ̽À´Ï´Ù. In this way Jesus turned her sorrow into joy. ÀÌ¿Í °°ÀÌ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ±× ¿©ÀÎÀÇ ½½ÇÄÀ» ±â»ÝÀ¸·Î ¹Ù²Ù¾î Áּ̽À´Ï´Ù. She could make a big smile. ±×³à´Â ȯÇÑ ¹Ì¼Ò¸¦ ÁöÀ» ¼ö ÀÖ°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. She had a reason to live—not just because of her son, but because of Jesus. ±×³à´Â »ì¾Æ°¥ ÀÌÀ¯¸¦ ã°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù—±×°ÍÀº ¾Æµé ¶§¹®¸¸ÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ¿¹¼ö´Ô ¶§¹®À̾ú½À´Ï´Ù. When the crowd of people heard Jesus¡¯ words and saw the young man get up, they were filled with awe and praised God. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸µµ µè°í ±× û³âÀÌ ÀϾ´Â °ÍÀ» º» ¸ðµç »ç¶÷µéÀº °æ¿Ü½ÉÀ¸·Î °¡µæ Â÷ Çϳª´Ô²² ¿µ±¤À» µ¹·È½À´Ï´Ù. They said, ¡°A great prophet has appeared among us. God has come to help his people¡± (16). ±×µéÀº ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù. ¡°Å« ¼±ÁöÀÚ°¡ ¿ì¸® °¡¿îµ¥ ÀϾ¼Ì´Ù. Çϳª´Ô²²¼ Àڱ⠹鼺À» µ¹º¸¼Ì´Ù¡±(16). God was making his presence known through Jesus, bringing salvation to his people. Çϳª´ÔÀº Àڱ⠹鼺µé¿¡°Ô ±¸¿øÀ» º£Çª½ÉÀ¸·Î ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀ» ÅëÇØ ´ç½ÅÀÇ »ì¾Æ°è½ÉÀ» ³ªÅ¸³»¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù. This news about Jesus spread to the entire region like a YouTube video gone viral. ¿¹¼ö´Ô²² ´ëÇÑ ÀÌ ¼Ò¹®ÀÌ ¿Â À¯´ë¿Í »ç¹æ¿¡ À¯Åõºê¸¦ ÅëÇØ µÎ·ç ÆÛÁ®³ª°¬½À´Ï´Ù. Here we learn several things about Jesus. ¿©±â¼ ¿ì¸®´Â ¿¹¼ö´Ô¿¡ ´ëÇØ ¸î °¡Áö¸¦ ¹è¿ì°Ô µË´Ï´Ù. First of all, Jesus has authority to give life. ù°·Î, ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº »ý¸íÀ» ÁÖ´Â ±Ç¼¼¸¦ °¡Áö¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù. In the Bible we can find several instances in which dead people were raised to life. ¼º°æ¿¡´Â Á×Àº ÀÚµéÀÌ »ì¾Æ³ª´Â ¿¹µéÀÌ ¿©·µ ³ª¿É´Ï´Ù. Elijah raised the son of the widow of Zarephath (1Ki 17:23), Elisha raised the Shunammite woman¡¯s son (2Ki 4:35), and Peter raised Tabitha (Ac 9:40). ¿¤¸®¾ß´Â »ç·¾´Ù °úºÎÀÇ ¾ÆµéÀ» »ì·È°í(¿Õ»ó 17:23), ¿¤¸®»ç´Â ¼ö³Û ¿©ÀÎÀÇ ¾ÆµéÀ» »ì·È°í(¿ÕÇÏ 4:35), º£µå·Î´Â ¿©¼±ÁöÀÚ ´Ùºñ´Ù¸¦ »ì·È½À´Ï´Ù(Çà 9:40). In each of these cases, the servants depended on God, who is the source of life, and God raised the dead to life. ÀÌ ¸ðµç °æ¿ì¿¡ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ Á¾µéÀº »ý¸íÀÇ ±Ù¿øÀ̽ŠÇϳª´ÔÀ» ÀÇÁöÇß°í, Çϳª´ÔÀº Á×Àº ÀÚ¸¦ »ì¸®¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù. But Jesus¡¯ case is different. ±×·¯³ª ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ °æ¿ì´Â ´Ù¸¨´Ï´Ù. Jesus¡¯ authority to give life comes from within himself. Á×Àº ÀÚ¸¦ »ì¸®´Â ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ±Ç¼¼´Â ¿¹¼ö´Ô Àڽſ¡°Ô¼ ³ª¿É´Ï´Ù. Jesus is the author of life and the life-giver. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº »ý¸íÀÇ ÁÖ´ÔÀÌ½Ã¿ä »ý¸íÀÇ ¼ö¿©ÀÚÀ̽ʴϴÙ. His words have the power to give life. ÁÖ´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡´Â »ý¸íÀ» ÁÖ´Â ´É·ÂÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. Anyone who hears Jesus¡¯ words receives life. ´©±¸µçÁö ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» µéÀ¸¸é »ý¸íÀ» ¾ò½À´Ï´Ù. Jesus said, ¡°Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¸»¾¸ÇϽʴϴÙ, ¡°³»°¡ Áø½Ç·Î Áø½Ç·Î ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£³ë´Ï ³» ¸»À» µè°í ¶Ç ³ª º¸³»½Å À̸¦ ¹Ï´Â ÀÚ´Â ¿µ»ýÀ» ¾ò¾ú°í ½ÉÆÇ¿¡ À̸£Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϳª´Ï »ç¸Á¿¡¼ »ý¸íÀ¸·Î ¿Å°å´À´Ï¶ó. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live¡± (Jn 5:24-25). Áø½Ç·Î Áø½Ç·Î ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£³ë´Ï Á×Àº ÀÚµéÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¾ÆµéÀÇ À½¼ºÀ» µéÀ» ¶§°¡ ¿À³ª´Ï °ð ÀÌ ¶§¶ó µè´Â ÀÚ´Â »ì¾Æ³ª¸®¶ó¡±(¿ä 5:24-25). At the age of 20, I was dead in sin and full of despair. Àú´Â ½º¹« »ì ¶§ ÁË·Î Á×Àº ÀÚ¿ä Àý¸ÁÀ¸·Î °¡µæ Âù ÀÚ¿´½À´Ï´Ù. After stumbling in sin, I committed myself to a woman who then abandoned me. Àú´Â »îÀ» »ì¾Æ°¥ ÀÌÀ¯¸¦ ãÁö ¸øÇß½À´Ï´Ù. But God¡¯s servants spoke words of great hope to me and shared the gospel key verses. ±×·¯³ª Çϳª´ÔÀÇ Á¾µéÀº Àú¿¡°Ô ³î¶ó¿î Èñ¸ÁÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» ÇØÁּ̰í, º¹À½ ¿äÀý ¸»¾¸À» ³ª´©¾î Áּ̽À´Ï´Ù. Through Romans 6:23b, Jesus spoke to my heart: ¡°¡¦but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.¡± ·Î¸¶¼ 6:23bÀýÀ» ÅëÇØ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº Á¦ ¸¶À½¿¡ ¸»¾¸ÇØ Áּ̽À´Ï´Ù. ¡°Çϳª´ÔÀÇ Àº»ç´Â ¿ì¸® ÁÖ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµ ¾È¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¿µ»ýÀ̴϶ó.¡± New life came into my soul and I could get up and serve God wholeheartedly. »õ »ý¸íÀÌ Á¦ ¿µÈ¥¿¡ ÀÓÇÏ¿© Àú´Â ÀϾ Çϳª´ÔÀ» Àü½ÉÀ¸·Î ¼¶±æ ¼ö ÀÖ°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Since then I have lived as a full-time campus shepherd for over 30 years. ±×¶§ ÀÌÈÄ·Î Àú´Â 30³â ÀÌ»ó ǮŸÀÓ Ä·ÆÛ½º ¸ñÀÚÀÇ »îÀ» »ì¾Æ¿Ô½À´Ï´Ù. This is not just my story; there are so many who have been brought from death to life by Jesus¡¯ words. ÀÌ°ÍÀº Àú¸¸ÀÇ À̾߱Ⱑ ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù. ¼ö¸¹Àº »ç¶÷µéÀÌ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸À¸·Î Á×À½¿¡¼ »ý¸íÀ¸·Î ¿Å°ÜÁö°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Only Jesus¡¯ words can do this. ¿ÀÁ÷ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸¸¸ÀÌ ÀÌ·± ÀÏÀ» °¡´ÉÇÏ°Ô ÇϽʴϴÙ. There are so many wonderful books. ¼¼»ó¿¡´Â ¸ÚÁø Ã¥µéÀÌ ¾ÆÁÖ ¸¹½À´Ï´Ù. But none of them make us alive. ÇÏÁö¸¸ ±×°Í Áß ¾î´À °Íµµ ¿ì¸®¸¦ »ì¾Æ³ª°Ô ÇÏÁö ¸øÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Only Jesus¡¯ words have the power to give life. ¿ÀÁ÷ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡¸¸ »ý¸íÀ» ÁÖ´Â ´É·ÂÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. Jesus¡¯ words give us true joy and hope. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸Àº ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÂüµÈ ±â»Ý°ú Èñ¸ÁÀ» ÁÝ´Ï´Ù. Jesus¡¯ words give us the meaning of life and purpose. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸Àº ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô »îÀÇ ÀÌÀ¯¿Í ¸ñÀûÀ» ÁÝ´Ï´Ù. Jesus¡¯ words give us strength so that we may walk and not be faint, run and not grow weary, and soar on wings like eagles (Isa 40:29,31). ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸Àº ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÈûÀ» Áּż ¿ì¸®´Â °É¾î°¡µµ ÇÇ°ïÇÏÁö ¾Ê°í, ´ÞÀ½¹ÚÁúÇصµ °ïºñÇÏÁö ¾Ê°í, µ¶¼ö¸®°¡ ³¯°³ Ä¡¸ç ¿Ã¶ó°¡´Â °Í °°Àº »îÀ» »ì°Ô µË´Ï´Ù(»ç 40:29, 31). Let¡¯s listen to Jesus¡¯ words so that his words may make us alive. ¿ì¸® ¸ðµÎ ÀÌ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» µéÀ½À¸·Î »ý¸í·Â ³ÑÄ¡´Â »îÀ» »ì±â¸¦ ±âµµÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Second of all, Jesus gave a prelude of his own resurrection. µÑ°·Î, ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ ºÎÈ°ÀÇ ¼¸·À» º¸¿©ÁֽʴϴÙ. Jesus¡¯ authority comes from his works as well as his person. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ±Ç¼¼´Â ÁÖ´ÔÀÇ Àΰݿ¡¼»Ó ¾Æ´Ï¶ó »ç¿ªÀ¸·ÎºÎÅ͵µ ³ª¿É´Ï´Ù. If Jesus died on the cross and was not raised from the dead, he would be another tragic hero. ¸¸¾à ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÌ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¿¡ Áױ⸸ ÇϽðí Á×Àº ÀÚ °¡¿îµ¥¼ ´Ù½Ã »ì¾Æ³ªÁö ¾Ê¾Ò´õ¶ó¸é, ÁÖ´Ôµµ ¶Ç ÇϳªÀÇ ºñ±ØÀûÀÎ ¿µ¿õ¿¡ ¸Ó¹°·¶À» °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. We would still be in our sins and faith would be futile. ±×·¯¸é ¿ì¸®´Â ¿©ÀüÈ÷ ÁË °¡¿îµ¥ ÀÖÀ» °ÍÀÌ°í, ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ¹ÏÀ½Àº ÇêµÉ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. We would still be under the power of death, and suffering Christians would be most pitiful (1Co 15:17-19). ¿ì¸®´Â ¿©ÀüÈ÷ Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ ¾Æ·¡¼ ½ÅÀ½ÇÒ °ÍÀÌ°í, °í³ ¹Þ´Â ±×¸®½ºµµÀεéÀº °¡Àå ºÒ½ÖÇÑ ÀÚÀÏ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù(°íÀü 15:17-19). But Jesus has indeed been raised from the dead. ±×·¯³ª ÀÌÁ¦ ±×¸®½ºµµ²²¼ Á×Àº ÀÚ °¡¿îµ¥¼ ´Ù½Ã »ì¾Æ³ª¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù. Jesus defeated the power of death and crushed the head of Satan, who had held all men in bondage through their fear of death (Heb 2:15). ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼¸¦ ÆÄÇϽðí, Á×À½ÀÇ °øÆ÷·Î »ç¶÷µéÀ» ³ë¿¹ »ï¾Ò´ø »çźÀÇ ¸Ó¸®¸¦ ¹Ú»ì³»¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù(È÷ 2:15). Through Jesus¡¯ resurrection, he gave us final and everlasting victory. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ´ç½ÅÀÇ ºÎÈ°À» ÅëÇØ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÃÖÁ¾ÀûÀÌ°íµµ ¿µ¿øÇÑ ½Â¸®¸¦ Áּ̽À´Ï´Ù. We can enjoy this victory in our daily lives through faith. ¿ì¸®´Â ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ ½Â¸®¸¦ ¹ÏÀ½À» ÅëÇØ ¸ÅÀÏÀÇ »î ¼Ó¿¡¼ ¸Àº¸¸ç »ì¾Æ°¥ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. That is why Paul said, ¡°Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ¡± (1Co 15:57). ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ¹Ù¿ïÀÌ ´ÙÀ½°ú °°ÀÌ ¸»ÇÑ ÀÌÀ¯ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. ¡°¿ì¸® ÁÖ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµ·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ½Â¸®¸¦ Áֽô Çϳª´Ô²² °¨»çÇϳë´Ï¡±(°íÀü 15:57). Jesus also gives us living hope in the kingdom of God. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¶ÇÇÑ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô Çϳª´Ô ³ª¶ó¿¡ ´ëÇÑ »ê ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» ÁֽʴϴÙ. People must have hope. »ç¶÷µé¿¡°Ô´Â ¹Ýµå½Ã ¼Ò¸ÁÀÌ ÀÖ¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. So they put hope in something. ±×·¡¼ »ç¶÷µéÀº ¾î¶°ÇÑ °Í¿¡ ¼Ò¸Á µÎ¸ç »ì¾Æ°©´Ï´Ù. But the things of this world all perish, spoil and fade away. ÇÏÁö¸¸ ÀÌ ¼¼»óÀÇ °ÍµéÀº ¸ðµÎ ½â°í ¸ø ¾²°Ô µÇ°í »ç¶óÁ® °©´Ï´Ù. They only disappoint us in the end. À̰͵éÀº °á±¹ ¿ì¸®¸¦ ½Ç¸Á½Ãų »ÓÀÔ´Ï´Ù. But God gives us a living hope through Jesus Christ. ±×·¯³ª Çϳª´ÔÀº ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµ¸¦ ÅëÇÏ¿© ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô »ê ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» ÁֽʴϴÙ. It never disappoints us. ÀÌ°ÍÀº °áÄÚ ¿ì¸®¸¦ ½Ç¸Á½ÃÅ°Áö ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù. Peter exclaimed, ¡°Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade¡± (1Pe 1:3-4a). º£µå·Î´Â ¿ÜÃƽÀ´Ï´Ù. ¡°¿ì¸® ÁÖ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ ¾Æ¹öÁö Çϳª´ÔÀ» Âù¼ÛÇϸ®·Î´Ù. ±×ÀÇ ¸¹À¸½Å ±àÈá´ë·Î ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµ¸¦ Á×Àº ÀÚ °¡¿îµ¥¼ ºÎÈ°ÇÏ°Ô ÇϽÉÀ¸·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ ¿ì¸®¸¦ °Åµì³ª°Ô ÇÏ»ç »ê ¼Ò¸ÁÀÌ ÀÖ°Ô ÇϽøç, ½âÁö ¾Ê°í ´õ·´Áö ¾Ê°í ¼èÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´Â À¯¾÷À» ÀÕ°Ô ÇϽóª´Ï¡±(º¦Àü 1:3-4a). Through his resurrection, Jesus gives us final victory and living hope. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ´ç½ÅÀÇ ºÎÈ°À» ÅëÇÏ¿© ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÃÖÈÄÀÇ ½Â¸®¿Í »ê ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» ÁֽʴϴÙ. Thank you, Jesus! ¿¹¼ö´Ô²² °¨»ç¸¦ µå¸³´Ï´Ù! Finally, Jesus has hope for young men. ¸¶Áö¸·À¸·Î, ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº û³â¿¡ ´ëÇÑ Èñ¸ÁÀ» °®°í °è½Ê´Ï´Ù. The young man in this passage was dead, and laying in a coffin, confined in a dark box. ¿À´Ã º»¹®ÀÇ Ã»³âÀº Á×¾î¼ ¾îµÎ¿î °ü¿¡ °¤Çô ´©¿ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. He epitomizes many young men in our time. ±×´Â ¿ì¸® ½Ã´ë ¸¹Àº û³âµéÀÇ ÀüÇüÀûÀÎ ¸ð½ÀÀ» º¸¿©ÁÝ´Ï´Ù. Young men should be dynamic, passionate and visionary. û³âÀº ¿ªµ¿ÀûÀÌ°í ¿Á¤ÀûÀÌ¸ç ºñÀüÀÌ ³ÑÃÄ¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. They should work hard and study hard and dream about a better future. û³âÀº ¿½ÉÈ÷ ÀÏÇÏ°í, ¿½ÉÈ÷ °øºÎÇϸç, ´õ ³ªÀº ¹Ì·¡¸¦ ²Þ²Ù¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. They should grow to become world changers. û³âÀº ÀÚ¶ó³ª ¼¼»óÀ» º¯È½ÃÅ°´Â »ç¶÷ÀÌ µÇ¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. But sadly, many are confined in a room like a dark box. ±×·¯³ª ¾ÈŸ±õ°Ôµµ ¸¹Àº û³âµéÀÌ ¾îµÎ¿î °ü°ú °°Àº ¹æ¿¡ °¤Çô ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. They like to watch ¡°The Walking Dead,¡± and to play video games in which they usually die again and again. ±×µéÀº ¿µÈ ¡°Á»ºñ¡±¸¦ º¸±â ÁÁ¾ÆÇÏ°í, ²÷ÀÓ¾øÀÌ Á×ÀÌ´Â ÄÄÇ»ÅÍ °ÔÀÓÀ» Áñ°Ü ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Many don¡¯t accept responsibility for their words and actions and deny any sense of accountability. û³âµé Áß¿¡´Â ÀڽŵéÀÇ ¸»°ú Çൿ¿¡ µû¸£´Â Ã¥ÀÓÀ» ÁöÁö ¾ÊÀ¸¸ç, ¾î¶°ÇÑ Ã¥ÀÓ Àǽĵµ °®Áö ¾Ê°íÀÚ ÇÏ´Â »ç¶÷µéÀÌ ¸¹½À´Ï´Ù. In their deep hearts, they really want to be great and to serve God in holiness and righteousness, without fear. ±×·¯³ª ±×µéÀº ¸¶À½ ¼Ó ±íÀÌ À§´ëÇÑ »ç¶÷ÀÌ µÇ°í ½Í°í, ¼º°á°ú ÀÇ·Î µÎ·Á¿ò ¾øÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀ» ¼¶±â°í ½Í½À´Ï´Ù. But in reality they are too powerless to do anything. ±×·¯³ª ½ÇÁ¦·Î ±×µéÀº ¾î¶°ÇÑ ÀÏÀ» Çس»±â¿¡ ¸Å¿ì ¹«·ÂÇÕ´Ï´Ù. It is because they are under the power of sin and death. ±× ÀÌÀ¯´Â ÁË¿Í Á×À½ ±Ç¼¼ ¾Æ·¡ Àֱ⠶§¹®ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. They cannot get out of bad habits, guilt and self-condemnation by themselves. ±×µé ½º½º·Î´Â ³ª»Û ½À°ü°ú ÁË Àǽİú Á¤ÁË¿¡¼ ¹þ¾î³¯ ¼ö ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù. The older generation may lose hope for them. ±¸¼¼´ë´Â ±×µé¿¡ ´ëÇÑ ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» ÀÒ¾î¹ö¸±Áö ¸ð¸¨´Ï´Ù. Young men may not even have hope for themselves. û³âµé ½º½º·Îµµ Àڽŵ鿡 ´ëÇÑ ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» °®Áö ¸øÇÒÁö ¸ð¸¨´Ï´Ù. But Jesus has hope for them to become strong enough to fight against their sinful nature and grow to be godly. ±×·¯³ª ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ±×µéÀÌ °°ÇÇÏ°Ô µÇ¾î ÀڽŵéÀÇ ÁË¾ÇµÈ º»¼º°ú ½Î¿ì¸ç Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼ºÇ°À» ´àÀº »ç¶÷À¸·Î ¼ºÀåÇÒ Èñ¸ÁÀ» °¡Áö°í °è½Ê´Ï´Ù. Jesus has hope for them to become passionate to do great things for God. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº û³âµéÀÌ ÀÚ¶ó³ª Çϳª´ÔÀ» À§ÇØ À§´ëÇÑ ÀÏÀ» ÇàÇÏ´Â ¿Á¤ÀûÀÎ »ç¶÷µéÀÌ µÉ Èñ¸ÁÀ» °®°í °è½Ê´Ï´Ù. Jesus has hope for them to become visionary leaders who can change the world. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº û³âµéÀÌ ¼¼»óÀ» º¯È½Ãų ºñÀü ³ÑÄ¡´Â ÁöµµÀÚµéÀÌ µÉ Èñ¸ÁÀ» Ç°°í °è½Ê´Ï´Ù. A few years ago, I visited ¡°Sacred Grounds,¡± a Christian coffee shop in Lafayette(¶óÇÇ¿§), Indiana, owned by Tom Camp. ¸î ³â Àü¿¡ Àú´Â Àεð¾Ö³ª ÁÖÀÇ ¶óÇÇ¿§¿¡ À§Ä¡ÇÑ ¡°°Å·èÇÑ ¶¥¡±À̶ó´Â °÷À» ¹æ¹®ÇÑ ÀûÀÌ ÀÖ¾ú´Âµ¥, ÀÌ°÷Àº Åè Ä·ÇÁ¶ó´Â »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¸¸µç Å©¸®½ºÃµ Ä¿ÇǼóÀÔ´Ï´Ù. Back in 1977, while intoxicated, he wandered into a church service to find his girlfriend. 1977³â¿¡ Åè Ä·ÇÁ´Â ÃëÇÑ »óÅ·Π±×ÀÇ ¿©ÀÚ Ä£±¸¸¦ ã±â À§ÇØ ±³È¸ ¿¹¹è ½Ã°£¿¡ µé¾î°¬½À´Ï´Ù. Without intending to, he listened to the pastor¡¯s message; that day it was on deliverance from alcohol and drugs. ÀǵµÄ¡ ¾Ê°Ô ±×´Â ¸ñ»ç´ÔÀÇ ¼³±³¸¦ µè°Ô µÇ¾ú´Âµ¥, ±× ³¯ ¼³±³´Â À½ÁÖ¿Í ¸¶¾àÀ¸·ÎºÎÅÍÀÇ ±¸¿ø¿¡ ´ëÇÑ °ÍÀ̾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Tom accepted Jesus and was instantly set free from his addictions. ÅèÀº ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀ» ¿µÁ¢ÇÏ¿´°í ±× Áï½Ã·Î ¼ú Áßµ¶À¸·ÎºÎÅÍ ÀÚÀ¯¸¦ ¾ò°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. After a time of discipleship in God¡¯s words, he married his girlfriend and had a son. ±×´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸À¸·Î ÈÆ·Ã ¹ÞÀº ÈÄ ±× ¿©ÀÚ Ä£±¸¿Í °áÈ¥Çؼ ¾ÆµéÀ» ³º¾Ò½À´Ï´Ù. The son¡¯s name is Jeremy, Jeremy Camp. ±× ¾ÆµéÀÌ À¯¸íÇÑ Å©¸®½ºÃµ CCM °¡¼öÀÎ Á¦·¹¹Ì Ä·ÇÁÀÔ´Ï´Ù. When Jeremy was 21, he married a beautiful Christian woman. Á¦·¹¹Ì´Â 21¼¼¿¡ ÇÑ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î Å©¸®½ºÃµ ¿©Àΰú °áÈ¥À» ÇÏ¿´½À´Ï´Ù. After a few months, she died. ±×·±µ¥ ¸î ´Þ ÈÄ ±×³à°¡ Á×°í ¸»¾Ò½À´Ï´Ù. Jeremy was overcome by sorrow, grief and anger. Á¦·¹¹Ì´Â ½½ÇÄ°ú ºñÅëÇÔ°ú ºÐ³ë °¡¿îµ¥ ºüÁö°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Yet at that time, he came to know Jesus more deeply. ÇÏÁö¸¸ ÀÌ ¶§ ±×´Â ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀ» ´õ¿í ±íÀÌ ¾Ë°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. He found that Jesus fully understood his sorrow and pain. ±×´Â ¿¹¼ö´Ô²²¼ ±×ÀÇ ½½ÇÄ°ú °íÅëÀ» ¿ÂÀüÈ÷ ÀÌÇØÇϽŴٴ °ÍÀ» ±ú´Ý°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. He found that Jesus gives victory over death. ±×´Â ¿¹¼ö´Ô²²¼ Á×À½À» À̱â´Â ½Â¸®¸¦ ÁÖ½ÉÀ» ±ú´Ý°Ô µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. By Jesus¡¯ power, he could get up and serve the Lord ever since. ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ±Ç´ÉÀ» ÅëÇØ ±×´Â ÀϾ ¼ö ÀÖ¾ú°í ±× ÀÌÈÄ Áö±Ý±îÁö ÁÖ´ÔÀ» ¼¶±æ ¼ö ÀÖ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. Many have been blessed through his music ministry. ¸¹Àº »ç¶÷µéÀÌ ±×ÀÇ Âù¾ç »ç¿ªÀ» ÅëÇØ ÀºÇý¸¦ ¹Þ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. Two of his recent songs, ¡°He Knows,¡± and ¡°Same Power,¡± summarize today¡¯s passage very well. ±×ÀÇ ÃֽŠ°îÀÎ ¡°He Knows¡±¿Í ¡°Same Power¡±´Â ¿À´Ã º»¹®À» ¾ÆÁÖ Àß ¿ä¾àÇÏ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. Jesus says, ¡°Young man, I say to you, Get up!¡± ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ¸»¾¸ÇϽʴϴÙ, ¡°Ã»³â¾Æ ³»°¡ ³×°Ô ¸»Çϳë´Ï ÀϾ¶ó¡± We have little strength or power. ¿ì¸®¿¡°Õ ÁË¿Í Á×À½À» À̱æ Èûµµ ±Ç¼¼µµ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù. But when we hear Jesus¡¯ words, he gives us strength to get up and serve God. ±×·¯³ª ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» µéÀ» ¶§ ÈûÀ» µ¡ÀÔ°í ÀϾ Çϳª´ÔÀ» ¼¶±æ ¼ö ÀÖ°Ô µË´Ï´Ù. Jesus¡¯ words have life-giving power! ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡´Â »ý¸íÀ» ÁÖ´Â ´É·ÂÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù! Let¡¯s pray for many young men to hear Jesus¡¯ words and get up! ¸¹Àº û³âµéÀÌ ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸À» µè°í ÀϾ ¼ö ÀÖµµ·Ï ±âµµÇØ¾ß ÇÏ°Ú½À´Ï´Ù.
