GENESIS Chapter 25 - 26

A Man of Faith - Issac

이삭이라는 이름은 '웃음'을 뜻합니다. 
하나님의 약속을 믿지 못해 웃었던 사라의 인생에서 그늘을 거두시고 참으로 웃게 하신 하나님의 선물이었습니다. 
늙은 아브라함이 25년 만에 얻은 약속의 아들이요 불가능을 가능케 하시는 하나님의 능력과 신실하심의 증거였습니다. 

18:10.Then the LORD said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, 
   and Sarah your wife will have a son." ...
18:11.Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.
18:12.So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, 
   "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?"
18:13. "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?'
18:14.Is anything too hard for the LORD?
18:15.Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, "I did not laugh." But he said, "Yes, you did laugh."
 

이삭은 인간의 방법이 아닌, 오직 하나님의 약속을 따라 얻은 아들, 명분이 있는 아브라함의 참 아들로서 
옛 언약과 새 언약, 율법과 복음의 대립에서 하나님이 계획하시고 약속하시고 인정하시는 구원의 길을 상징합니다. 

21:10. Sarah said to Abraham, "Get rid of that slave woman and her son, 
   for that slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac."
21:12. But God said to him, "Do not be so distressed about the boy and your maidservant. 
   Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.

Galatians 3:26에는 '너희가 다 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 아들이 되었으니'
   (You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus) 라고 말씀합니다. 또 4장에 보면 
   이스마엘과 이삭을 대조시켜 복음을 떠나 율법주의에 치우치는 자들의 오류에 대해 지적하고 있습니다. 
 
22.For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.
23.His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; 
   but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.
24.These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. 
   One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar.
26.But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
28.Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
30.But what does the Scripture say? 
   "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, 
   for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son."
31.Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.  
 
  
이삭은 하나님의 어린양이 되사 영원하고 온전한 제사를 드리신 예수님의 순종을 연상케 합니다. 
그러나 하나님은 아브라함의 고백대로 친히 하나님의 어린 양을 마련하고 계셨습니다. 
수풀에 뿔이 걸린 양과, 영원하고 온전한 제사를 드릴 수 있는 유일한 양 예수님을...
이삭을 바치기 위해 사흘 길을 행하며 아브라함이 느꼈던 아픔은 아마도 하나님 아버지의 아픔을 닮았을 것입니다. 

22:7.Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?" "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. 
  "The fire and wood are here, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
22:8.Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." 
22:13.Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. 
  He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
22:14.So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. 
  And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."


창세기 25장에서는 아브라함 사후 이삭이 주인공으로 등장합니다. 
그는 기도의 사람이었습니다. 아내 리브가가 잉태하지 못할 때 그를 위하여 간구하였습니다. 
40세에 결혼하여 무려 20년을 이렇게 줄기차게 기도했을 때, 하나님께서 그의 간구를 들으셨습니다.
그것도 100% 보너스로 쌍둥이, 에서와 야곱을 주셨습니다. 
그는 순종적인 사람이요 조용한 사색가였지만, 뛰어난 사냥 솜씨로 맛난 고기요리를 먹게 해 주는 
와일드한 에서를 좋아하였습니다. 

25:11.After Abraham's death, God blessed his son Isaac, who then lived near Beer Lahai Roi.
25:21.Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. 
  The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.
25:28.Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.


이삭의 삶에서 가장 인상적인 것 중에 하나는 블레셋왕 아비멜렉 측과의 우물 싸움에서 
끝도 없이 양보하는 모습을 보인 점입니다. 
뜨거운 중동 지방의 목축업자로서 어렵게 찾고 파낸 우물을 양보한다는 것은 여간한 손해가 아니었습니다. 
그러나 하나님께서 그와 함께 하시고 그를 도와주셨습니다. 
빼앗고 또 빼앗아도 다시 새로운 우물을 파내는 이삭을 보며 적들은 두손 두발 다 들고는 
그를 인정하고, 그를 지키시는 여호와 하나님을 인정하였습니다. 우와~~~
맞서 싸우지 않고, 양보하고 져주는 것, 축복의 근원되시는 하나님을 믿을 때 가능한 일이겠지요. 

26:12.Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him.
26:13.The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.
26:14.He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.
26:15.So all the wells that his father's servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, 
  the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth.
26:17.So Isaac moved away from there and encamped in the Valley of Gerar and settled there.
26:18.Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham...
26:19.Isaac's servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there.
26:28.They answered, "We saw clearly that the LORD was with you; 
  so we said, 'There ought to be a sworn agreement between us' - between us and you. 
  Let us make a treaty with you
  

이삭은 맛난 고기맛에 에서를 편애하고 또 부전자전 격으로 아비멜렉에게 아내를 누이라 속이는 등
인간적인 허물과 실수가 있었지만, 아브라함 한 사람을 시작으로한 하나님의 구속 역사의 물줄기를 잇는 믿음의 사람이었습니다. 
믿음으로 하나님 역사의 중심에 서서 한 걸음 한 걸음 붙좇은 이삭... 그의 인생에 함께 하신 하나님을 찬양합니다.
